So late last year I had pneumonia and my lungs still have issues. So I am always willing to try anything that promises better health and I kinda came at Bulletproof coffee and the whole Bulletproof lifestyle from the side by reading about it from another user who mentioned it helped his asthma (oooh — tell me more!) and how mold can be one of the things that really makes breathing suck so I was interested. Interested enough to give it a try. Keep in mind that it costs around 2-3 times what normal coffee costs depending on what you use and then there are additives you need to add like the MCT oil. So I tried it. I thought it might be greasy and it was but surprisingly not in a weird or gross way. It was actually surprisingly tasty and it killed off ALL cravings – yay! I have always struggled with night eating so that is something that I would like to also get rid of and that is for sure one of the side effects.
Has it helped dramatically with my breathing issues. Well, no, not dramatically. It has been a couple of weeks so maybe, there is still hope but here is what it has done.
- My sleep is WAY better. I fall asleep better and I sleep more soundly ( I have always been a super light sleeper and I have always had issues falling asleep so both of these are great)
- My night snacking and cravings is pretty much gone. this is a nice side effect 🙂
- I feel a bit more focused (to be honest, I have never had issues with work so I am not getting much there but I do have more focus for some side projects and personal stuff and housework that I normally blow off happily)
- I just feel more organized in general.
So I am still hoping for a major change to the breathing because that is my most annoying thing and I do have to take ginger every day for it (which is fine) and the occasional Sugar Free Halls cough drop (which is not so fine) so still hoping for some improvement. My Navage is the one thing that has made the most positive effect on my breathing.
I am also going to try Bulletproof Charcoal which is for tummy troubles but since Gerd has a lot of effects on breathing, it cannot hurt. I have not been diagnosed with Gerd but could be a very small amount of tummy stuff that is just adding that extra amount to my breathing so we shall see. Stay tuned!!
