Class Action Against VA Finally Allowed by Courts

So the VA (along with other things in the military like bad doctors) have always been protected from you being able to sue them like you would if they were not a government agency.  This is fine if they actually did their jobs in a timely fashion but the VA has some areas where they have a horrible record (sorry Trump, still not fixed and won’t be fixed until a major culture change and firing a LOT of people).

Anyway — a federal court today said that a class action lawsuit against the VA can move forward.

The case is about delaying claims and many vets have had to wait more than 2 years just to be certified to receive benefits.  Everything at the VA is at least slightly broken and moves at a snail’s pace and vets are used to that but to tell a disabled vet that they can fund their own stuff and just sit and wait while the VA takes their sweet time is BS so it is good that this case is moving forward.  It will be a nice smack in the face if the VA lose and it is probably one of the steps that is needed to get some change at the VA.

Of course in classic VA style, they are worried about the slippery slope of a lot of other class action cases.  Hey, how about just doing your jobs and there wouldn’t be all these issues and cases.  So we will see how it plays out.
