So here is another case that seems to be a tough one. At times, it is a bit “all over the place” because there have been witnesses and clues and even arrests over the years and yet – NO BODY. There seems to be an acceptance if you will of witness testimony as fact – like that he was put in a barrel – but really until they find a body in a barrel, I am much more hesitant to say that is “for sure what happened” There is also a part of me that is very interested in the fact that the John Doe I featured last week was found in Alabama a year later in the woods and well, gee, did anyone test him since he was found 10 miles south of Auburn U. I would like to think they did but since I am not in law enforcement, I wouldn’t even know nor would I know if it is even proper to call and ask – and who do you ask? The John Doe has his DNA in Codus so I am hopeful that this checked happened in recent history if it wasn’t done long ago.

But just in case anyone reading this wants to check it out — check the clothing and the missing vs found date and the height and weight — they have a WEIRD, VERY WEIRD similarity!
JOHN DOE found in MACON County Alabama
Kyle Clinkscales – Missing from LaGrange Ga en route to Auburn University
Kyle’s father wrote a book about Kyle and I would love to read it but it is out of print and extremely hard to find on eBay and Amazon but I will be keeping my eyes out for it (if you know the publisher, please ask them to reprint it digital 🙂
Kyle disappeared while driving after work from LaGrange Ga to Auburn U – about a 45 minute drive – on Jan 27th, 1976. Neither him nor his Ford Pinto have ever been found. Just for reference, the John Doe I was referencing was found in 1977 as skeletal remains off of I85 about 10 miles from Auburn University.
Some people were arrested much later for disposing of Kyle’s body but Kyle’s body was not located and the man that was the main suspect died in 2001 so unless those people who were convicted of disposal have more info about it, he may never be located and we should not assume that anything is correct until his body is located because it just leads you down one path when you should be checking out many leads so I hope the local law enforcement in charge of this are still keeping it open and working it because Kyle’s father has passed away but the rest of his family deserve some closure.
