So when I was a child and teenager, my family went to Yellowstone and I went a couple of times as an adult and then when my husband and I did our PCS move from Hawaii to New York,we drove all the way across the USA and we did a couple of days at Yellowstone because my husband had never been there and there are seriously A LOT OF GEYSERS. It is NOT just Ole Faithful, it is just the most popular and the easiest because it can be predicted. Some of them only erupt every year or a couple times a year or they really have NO SCHEDULE at all.
The largest active Geyser in the world is one of these Geysers and it is called the Steamboat Geyser. You can go see it but you could go every day for a year – or two – or more – and never see an eruption. In fact until March, it had not erupted since 2014. Then in March, it erupts and then this month, twice more. Hmmm, what’s up? Turns out maybe nothing or maybe something, nobody really knows.
Here is a cool article on it from the Daily Express in the UK – I chose it because it had really great pictures so if you want more info on it — check it out!!
Now remember seismic activity is really why Yellowstone is so cool, there are events like earthquakes OFTEN so this could be nothing but it is at the very least, extremely interesting.
