John Doe of the Week – Found April 1975 Cordele Georgia

This one is a bit of a sad story really because he was found in the woods and they estimated he had been there for months – a sad way for someone to end their life, alone in the woods – or dumped in the woods.

He was found in April 1975, he is very small (like 5’4″-5’6″ and under 140 pounds which for a man is a small build so really it shouldn’t be so hard to find a few missing men to compare.  I did find one when I had a quick search on Namus which was James Thomas Stanley who was last seen in the fall of 1974 so the timeframe may fit and he was 5’7-5’8″ and 140-150 so he may fit and since it was just a partial skeleton, it might be worth a look for LE to check this one out.

James Thomas Stanley – missing since Fall 1974

James Thomas Stanley went missing while driving from Ohio (where he was reported missing) to Florida and Cordele sits literally right on I75 in Georgia and his body was found on near Coney Road and when I pulled that up on Google maps, it isn’t far (a couple miles maybe) but not so far that dumping a body if you were on I75 wouldn’t be too far off the interstate.

They also share hair color and since it was a partial skeleton,  it isn’t possible to get the face completely 100% but wow, I see a bit of him around the nose.
